Educational Philosophy
My educational Philosophy is mainly progressivism, earning through experiences and hands-on activities. My students will be able to participate in activities that focus more on creating, for example creating their own stories, math problems, and more. There will be a topic the students will take from to bring their ideas to life, which also invites time for discussions and constructive criticism. Not only will they learn from me, but they can learn from their own creations and ideas.
My educational philosophy is also essentialism. I believe that students should be taught material that they will most certainly need. This is why I will include essential objects in some topics or I will use real-life situations. One thing I will use is "groups" students will be put into groups during certain activities and be given a task to complete. Group work teaches students how to communicate and share ideas. Some group activities are projects, school plays, research, educational games, etc.
Another group idea is rotations, I can put my students into groups and have them rotate through learning sections. Examples of learning sections: An art section, a Music section, Reading/writing section. Each section will have its own material and task or goal. The students will get the same amount of time in each section, some students will need more time and that is okay!
In my class, my students will learn how to create, share, communicate and grow together.
